Great 6 month check up and a lemon what?!

Yesterday, we took Sebastian to his 6 month check up! He is doing fantastic!!  He is 15.6lbs with a dry diaper on and 25.5″ long! He is in the 50th percentile for height and weight on the preemie growth chart and on the adjusted he is in the 50th for length and 25th for weight!! Hard to believe he is really only 4 months old! Per his pedi we can start to introduce Seb to rice cereal and/or oatmeal and once he gets used to the texture we can start introducing him to the stage 1 supported sitter foods!! WOOT!! Last night C and I fed him some cereal. He did so great for his first time using a spoon!!!

Seb had to get 4 shots at the doctor and he did great!! We decided to run a couple errands since he was in a great mood even after that…

We went to Buy Buy Baby… he slept through the first bit of it…

Then once he woke up, we used our Bobby shopping cart cover for the first time HEHE WOOT!!

When we left BBB, Seb was all about loving on his little blue monkey… LOL he loves to chew on him and rub against his face! (thanks uncle J)

I went grocery shopping later last night and found the most interesting fruit ever… I was getting some lemons when this fruit under the some plums caught my eye…

It is a LEMON PLUM!!!! I am a freak about lemons, lemon ANYTHING and I am all about it… and this is now my favorite fruit LOL!! It taste like a lemon but has the texture of a plum!! SOOOOOO good!!!

I got some rice cereal and oatmeal for Seb at the store and we tried the rice cereal last night…

He did so great with the spoon! I would say he ate about half of the cereal we made! Pretty good for his first go. We are going to try the oatmeal tonight.  His legs are super sore today but he is a ROCKSTAR about it!!

I made C a healthy Valentine’s day dinner and he posted about it but since I have been asked for the recipe I thought I should post it for you guys…

This is a Greek yogurt Fettuccine Alfredo topped with diced tomatoes and sauteed spinach on the side.


1 pound fettuccine noodles (I use linguine most of the time)
1 small garlic clove, chopped (you can used the minced also.. just use the equivelent)
1 cup plain greek yogurt (sometimes I add a little more, it soaks up quick when you add the parm and sometimes is a bit dry)
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Dash of pepper
Dash of nutmeg ( I skipped this)


Bring a stockpot of water to a boil and add the pasta and simmer according to the directions on the box. To make this dish even healthier, use whole wheat noodles.

Chop the garlic and add it to the boiling water with the pasta. This mellows out the garlic and infuses the pasta with its flavor.
In a large mixing bowl, invite your child to measure and add the Greek yogurt, salt, and Italian seasoning. Give the mixture a stir.
Once the noodles are cooked through, turn off the heat, strain, and return the noodles to the hot pot. Add the butter and toss so the pasta is coated.
Carefully add the pasta to the yogurt mixture and stir until the sauce is evenly distributed.
Sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and give it another toss. Serve with extra cheese and a dusting of salt and pepper and a hint of nutmeg.
Makes four large servings

I top mine with diced tomatoes and we LOVE it!!

For the Spinach, I used a whole bag! I washed the leaves and drained them. With a tiny bit of Olive Oil, I heat the skillet. Once hot I put a good layer of the Spinach in and sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder. Gently tossing the Spinach as it starts to break down. Once ready, I placed in a bowl and did the rest of the bag. Took a couple of times because I only wanted a thin layer of the Spinach so it would cook more evenly. This is so good for you and SO tasty!!! One big bag will cook down to 2-3 servings.. we do not usually have any left over! You can call us Popeye… LOL

Well I supposed I need to take my own advice and GET UP and GET MOVING… I think I am gonna make my yummy cabbage dish for dinner tonight.. YUM!!!
